Bawdrip, Cossington, Pawlett, Puriton and Woolavington are five villages situated at the western end of the Polden Hills in the heart of rural Somerset and in the Diocese of Bath & Wells (http://www.bathandwells.org.uk ). Our nearest large town is Bridgwater, but we are close to Taunton, Weston Super Mare, and Street. Our vicar is Rev’d Kirsty Wells Tel: 01278 685480 revkirsty@hotmail.comThe Rectory, Vicarage Road, Woolavington TA7 8DX ,I have has recently taken up the post as Priest-in-Charge of the Benefice of Woolavington with Cossington and Bawdrip and I am also overseeing the Benefice of Puriton with Pawlett until I can be licensed to all 5 churches. We are worshipping in our churches again after the Covid outbreak. We are also retaining a weekly online service. . If you would like the Zoom link, please email me. The Facebook Page is called ‘Woolavington, Cossington, Bawdrip, Puriton and Pawlett Churches’Prior to this appointment I was chaplain at Musgrove Park Hospital having previously worked in Salisbury Diocese. I am looking forward to getting involved in village life and hope you will find me to be open and approachable as we share together in life in the villages. I will be looking to hold a safe space in which everyone feels able to ask questions. While everyone is welcome to attend the churches for worship, I don’t expect this to be the only place for meeting with you – I am passionate about working in schools and being involved with activities in the community. If you bump into me (well may be not literally – as we’re still social distancing as I write) please do introduce yourself. The Rev’d Kirsty Wells revkirsty@hotmail.com The Churches work together as a United Benefice and are open, inclusive and very welcoming Anglican Churches. The ministry of the parish churches extends beyond the church buildings and the mission of the church families is to demonstrate and share the love of Christ in their village communities. |
